Put Your Left Arm in and Shake it All About

I almost didn't have any weird shaking/spasms/jolts today. Almost. My body behaved for most of the day and then kind of went nutso later on. Strange, strange sensations. It's not quite the hokey pokey, but I had to laugh at these leaves. They are playing the hokey pokey for me.

Today's quest for beauty started with my job. These flowers are from the desk of my co-worker who sits next to me. Beauty is all around us, within us, and here to help us with our struggles. I love the color combination of these.

I went to physical therapy today. These are from outside the PT office. The manual traction felt good. I have a lot less pain after seeing her but still have the jolts.

The next few are from my cafe visit yesterday. I couldn't work them into yesterday's post.

And then there are the snails. I keep seeing them. This is today's snail. He got up on the rock and posed for me. Here's the conversation I had with the snail.

Me: "Man, oh man. I wish my spinal cord and whatnot would stop doing all this crazy stuff."

Mr. Snail: "Jen, at least you have a spine!"

Me: "Yeah, but I have all these bizarre sensations."

Mr. Snail: "Jen, I have to pull my house on my back everywhere I go. I don't have arms and legs. Give me a break, will ya? Don't complain, ok?"

Me: "You do have a point. Thanks, Mr. Snail."

Oh, the lessons to learn!

Peace and hugs,
Jen

Why Me? This Doesn't Make Any Sense That This Is Happening to Me

When in pain, I am tempted to ask, "Why me? This doesn't make any sense that this is happening to ME. What did I do to deserve this?"

I ask this sometimes even though I try really hard to rein the question in. Then, I am reminded that there are some things that simply don't make sense. I went to a cafe today. These are pictures from my little outing.

Sometimes things just don't make sense, no matter how hard I try to make them make sense.

Even though things don't make sense, things are sometimes broken. What is an ugly eye sore to some is a beautiful thing to others.

Yet although I see and feel that the ceiling is broken, the cafe holds beauty inside...

And outside...

We are this way, no matter how broken we are physically. We were made beautiful, and we are beautiful, no matter how broken our bodies become.

Peace and hugs,
Jen

C3-4 No, Good Things in Life Come in Threes

I am told one of my bulging discs is in C3-4. Today's quest for beauty was to find wonderful things in threes.

Snail family. Yay!

Pink Flowers

Purple Flowers

Ok, so the last one isn't a three type of picture. The spinal surgeon told me yesterday that my syrinx is probably something that is a part of how God made me. He said it probably won't get worse but that he's ordering tests to rule out other bad stuff. This last image was one I captured today outside of church. This is the way this flower came out. It is different from the others. I looked three times to make sure the petals were two different colors coming out of the same flower rather than a different bloom behind it.

Peace and hugs,
Jen
